How to Stay Anonymous over Internet to Protect Your Privacy

The way Facebook revel its connection with Cambridge Analytica. it put a question mark on user privacy the way Facebook treat user data for making profit. Internet user are not happy the way Facebook doing business by compromising user data. 

I would prefer a social media that charge a small amount of money for service to secure my personal data. Facebook and Google are two side of one coin, people now realizing power of their data and there are alternative of services of Google and Facebook.  1. Use VPN 

VPN is stand for Virtual Private Network, It use public infrastructure but share data in encrypted form. Using a VPN is good if you are doing something which is very confidential. You may have question on your mind If a VPN use same network infrastructure then how it is secure?.

 Let me explain with a example, for example if you send a courier through normal post then it will go from one post office to another , anybody in post office can see that where this courier came and where it will get delivered but in VPN nobody can see either sender or receiver info because of encryption. Opera Browser have inbuilt VPN, so you have no need to spend single penny for VPN.

2. Use DuckDuckGo 

It emerge as one of the best alternative of Google, If you use Vivaldi browser then you can use DuckDuckgo as your default search engine. Google have biggest search market but major problem with Google is it track lot, it monitor your each search activity you do over internet and show relevant ads. Based on your search history, it can show your age and interest which you can see by visiting my activity page of your Google account.  

 3. Switch to Signal Messaging App 

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging App, but major problem with WhatsApp is, it is owned by Facebook, the way Facebook shared its user data with Cambridge Analytica, Facebook is not trust able. Advantage of signal over WhatsApp is, it transfer message in encrypted form, even though WhatsApp also support end to end encryption but WhatsApp keeps the data. 

Signal is open source it has more privacy feature, on the other hand WhatsApp own by Facebook which do bad practice with user data. Signal is Non Profit so it collect less meta data, on the other hand WhatsApp collect more Meta Data while chatting like Location and IP address.   

4. Use Tor Browser.

 Onion browser is Tor based browser of iPhone user, The project Tor designed to protect internet user from tracking, government surveillance and censorship but Tor is very against to Torrent. Tor automatically block browser plugin such as flash player, Real Player, QuickTime that disclose user IP address.
